Welcome to Kauai Outdoors, a blog of The Kauai Outdoor Circle (TKOC).
In the weeks to come, we hope to feature in this space, posts, long or short, light or heavy, by a smattering of contributors on a variety of topics in multiple styles and formats, and all pertaining in some way to the mission of the Outdoor Circle to keep Kauai clean, green, and beautiful. There will be some program announcements, educational offerings, advocacy opportunities, threat alerts, lots of education, etc. but they will represent the organization’s values of, among others: beautiful public spaces, island food sustainability, preservation of species, elimination of threats, healthy plants, clean seas, protection of view planes, and working together. In two words, aloha ‘aina. This year The Kauai Outdoor Circle will focus on engaging more people in our mission, spreading the word about our activities, signing up more advocates, and expanding our programs. We will be initiating some more ways for members and non-members to let their voices be heard by nominating favorite things about neighborhoods and the out-of-doors, identifying issues and challenges, suggesting solutions, and taking actions. We hope you can join us in some way this year and throughout the year continue to live aloha ‘aina. Maureen Murphy President, The Kauai Outdoor Circle
